Day 7 - 40 Days for Life

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:31-31

What is our character and reputation among others? Does the way we live our lives cause others to seek us out? Do others approach us and ask us for truth? If so how do we respond? Do we lead them out of their misunderstanding by standing on our ground? Do we take them to the solid foundation of the Word of God? Or do we remain on their territory? As we share the Word of God with them do we stop and ask them questions? Do we then continue to work with them so that their eyes will be open? Do we tell them to look up or do we keep their eyes on us?

Mark 8:22-25 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw aught. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restore, and saw every man clearly.

Paul was an intellectual and pious man. He absolutely believed in his cause and believed that he was serving God. Many of those that are active in the abortion industry believe that their cause is just. Paul went before the high priest to go to Damascus in order to pursue and slaughter Christians. Proponents of abortion go before our government not only to keep abortion legal but to go beyond that which is already legal. Jesus met Paul in a miraculous way on the road to Damascus. Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday. Jesus is more than able to change hearts and minds. Jesus knows who is His. Jesus knows the heart of man. Jesus can change the heart of the most zealous proponent of abortion.
Ananias, a disciple of Christ Jesus responds-that he has heard of Paul and knows the authority that Paul was given by the high priest. But Jesus tells Ananias to go to Paul because Paul is a chosen vessel unto Him. Ananias obeys What would our response be if Jesus sent us to speak to someone who perhaps could do us some real harm? What if the CEO of your company was a strong supporter of abortion and the Lord said go to him? How much do we trust God and how much are we willing to risk? Turns out that Paul was even more zealous for Jesus Christ than He had been for persecuting Christians.

Acts 9: 1-18 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sigh, and neither did eat nor drink. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold I am here, Lord And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priest to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that apeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Pray for those who perform abortions and those whose work it is to promote abortions. Pray that they will have a revelation of the work that they do. That the Word of God will pierce their heart. That they will know that the Lord Jesus forgives all those who call upon His name. That they will become strong voices for life. That they will be a zealot for life.
